How to deal with employees who are not very concerned about their work

kenapa karyawan malas kerja

Sometimes there are individuals who are reluctant to dismiss employees who are not very concerned for reasons such as:

1. Finding replacement employees can be difficult.
2. Lack of human resources.
3. There is still hope for this person to change.
4. Lack of courage to take action.

However, if an employee exhibits the following indicators, it is advisable to take immediate action:

1. Always saying "it's not my problem":

Because the person does not see themselves as part of the team, always saying "this is not my problem, it's their problem, that's someone else's problem." If they were truly a good team player, they would say "let's do it." Especially if the one speaking is a leader, it is highly unethical. Because a leader is already being paid. A leader should take responsibility and do something because whatever happens in the company is everyone's business. The risk of still employing someone with such traits is that it will greatly drain the time and energy of the supervisor.

2. If there is a supervisor, they work diligently:

If there is someone who behaves as described above, working diligently only when the supervisor is around, but lazy and unproductive when the supervisor is absent, it is best to take action because this person is two-faced or can be considered as seeking favor.

3. Everyone complains about the employee:

If you have an employee who is constantly complained about, whether by acquaintances or strangers, whether they are good people or bad. For example, in Pak Tom's channel, he once told a story about an employee who had a rather unique habit of borrowing money. All employees were lent money by him, whether it was staff, supervisors, office boys, parking attendants, and one day, a debt collector. He was not afraid at all of the debt collector and even approached the debt collector to borrow money. And strangely enough, the debt collector also lent him money. This employee is indeed skillful when negotiating. But his bad habit is that when he borrows money, he never returns it, and he feels like he never borrowed money. He says, "When did I borrow money from you? Why would I borrow money from you?" But when he borrows money, it's a little different. For example, if someone wants to go shopping and asks him, "Where are you going? I'm going to Indomaret." Then the employee says, "Can you buy me bread?" He asks this person to buy food for him and then leaves when he is about to be asked for the money, always saying, "I never borrowed money from you." He always feels like he forgets if he ever borrowed money.

4. Employees who come to the office with a disheveled and unhappy appearance:

If you have an employee like this, you should pay attention. If it is felt that the employee is not happy, it is better not to force oneself. Because on average, people who are not happy in their job are already thinking about moving to another job but currently do not have the opportunity.
